Sixt is a calm village with the 'Giffre' river running through it. You will find all the essential shops and services (bakery, grocers, paper shop, sports shops, local produce, souvenirs) as well as restaurants, bars and various activities organised by the tourist office or the nature reserve. (Supermarket in Samoëns - 6km).



The Grand Massif consists of 265 Km of ski slopes linking 5 resorts : Sixt, Samoëns, Morillon, Les Carroz and Flaine.

You will find breathtaking views and a wide variety of slopes of different levels of difficulty. The famous "piste des cascades", a blue run 14 km long comes down through mountain pastures and alpine forests from the summit of the "grandes platières" (Flaine) down to Sixt. Free ski shuttle service throughout the Grand Massif.





The Sixt Fer-à-Cheval nature reserve is the biggest in the Haute-Savoie. Situated 100m from the "Bivouac" the nature reserve staff will be happy to provide information and advice to help you discover our mountains. The nature reserve consists of 9200 hectares of protected nature, wildlife and flora, with changing landscapes (forests, prairies, pastures, glaciers, rivers and waterfalls, etc...). Throughout the summer a warm welcome is waiting for you at the 5 mountain refuges.
